Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armos Saffedine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armos Saffedine has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Samuel Adams's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armos Saffedine!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams closes the distance and clinches up with Saffedine, looking for a takedown. Adams pushes Saffedine against the cage but Saffedine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saffedine stuffs the takedown attempt from Adams. Adams gets slowly back to his feet.
Saffedine has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Saffedine closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Adams tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saffedine gets underhooks to prevent Adams's takedown attempt.
Saffedine working Adams over with knees to the body.
Adams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Saffedine prevents it.

Saffedine turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Saffedine manages to end up in side control.
Saffedine in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Saffedine decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Adams shoots for a double leg takedown but Saffedine sprawls well. He's pushed Adams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Adams is breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Adams.

and Saffedine moves into the clinch.
Saffedine is pressed up against the cage. Adams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Saffedine down to the mat. Saffedine avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Saffedine drives through with a takedown into Adams's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Saffedine seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Saffedine is working Adams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Saffedine decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Adams, up you get!
Saffedine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Saffedine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Adams was covering up waiting for the punch and Saffedine finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Saffedine gets to his feet - Adams follows without any prompting.
Saffedine leaves Adams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Adams blocks a jab.
Saffedine fails to land with a series of punches.
Adams fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Some wild striking there from Saffedine.
Adams could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Saffedine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Saffedine.
A lull in the action here as Saffedine stalls from top position.

Adams tries to bench press Saffedine off him but Saffedine keeps the position.
Saffedine slows the pace down.
Saffedine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adams keeps working.
Adams tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Saffedine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Adams is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Saffedine gets to mount! Adams was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Adams is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Saffedine landing strikes, looking to finish!
Adams wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Adams is trying to remain composed but Saffedine is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
Saffedine trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Adams doesn't escape.
Can Adams hold on?! Saffedine is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Armos Saffedine dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Adams takes a shot right to the bread basket.


It looks like Samuel Adams has been cut.
Saffedine throws a head kick that Adams semi-blocks.


Adams is rocked!


Samuel Adams's cut is getting worse.

Oh Adams is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Saffedine gets to his feet - Adams follows without any prompting.

Saffedine scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Saffedine decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Saffedine tries a head kick but it misses.
Adams misses with a takedown
and Saffedine counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saffedine scores with a push kick.
Adams blocks a head kick by Saffedine.
Nice body kick from Saffedine.

Saffedine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Adams's guard.
Adams looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Saffedine puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Armos Saffedine has got the better of the ground game so far.
Saffedine moves nicely into side control.
Adams seems to have got his legs back now.
Adams is being controlled here.
Saffedine has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Adams is looking for a sweep.

Saffedine tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Saffedine has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Saffedine stands up and beckons Adams to his feet.
Adams doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Adams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Saffedine throws a body kick that misses.

Adams shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Saffedine counters with a leg kick.
Adams shoots in for a double leg but Saffedine sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Saffedine has taken the fight to the clinch.
Adams takes an elbow to the forehead.

Saffedine has clasped his hands together around Adams's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Saffedine trying to control the position but Adams is working away.

Saffedine has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Samuel Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saffedine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Adams circles away quickly and effectively.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Saffedine counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Adams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Adams walks into a stiff left hand from Saffedine.


Jeez, Samuel Adams's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Saffedine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Adams was well out of range. Poor timing from Saffedine.

and Adams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Samuel Adams's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Armos Saffedine!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Armos Saffedine waved his t-shirt featuring Affordable Quality + Reliable Laundry's logo in front of the cameras.
