Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Mean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonh Hamm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mean comes into the arena with Seven Nation Army blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hamm crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mean - the referee stops the clock and Hamm gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mean. Hamm manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Mean displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

It looks like Jonh Hamm has been cut.
Mean throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Hamm is looking to clinch but Mean is avoiding it.
Mean throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mean feints and then cracks Hamm's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hamm down.
Hamm takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mean lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Dean Mean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hamm walks into a jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Hamm connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mean cracks Hamm with an open hand slap.
Mean jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mean misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mean connects with a solid leg kick.
Hamm fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hamm tries to clinch but Mean moves out of range.

and Mean cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mean throws a head kick that misses.
Hamm tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mean scores with a one two! Hamm had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mean fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hamm has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hamm's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Mean misses with a double jab.
Mean looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hamm thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mean throws a head kick that half lands.
Mean throws a right hand that Hamm ducks under and follows up with a left that Hamm also avoids with ease.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hamm tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mean swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A combination from Mean does no damage.
Mean throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hamm moves out of range of the body kick.
Hamm tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mean manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A good leg kick by Mean.
You can see that Hamm has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks
Hamm doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hamm takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hamm has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mean finds it's way round the side to connect with Hamm's head.
A left and a right from Mean both land. Nice combination.
Hamm jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mean misses with a double jab.
Mean stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The cut above Jonh Hamm's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Mean throws a sloppy head kick and Hamm moves out of range easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mean lands a big head kick that sends Hamm tumbling to the mat! Mean takes a step backwards and waves Hamm back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hamm is rocked!
Mean cracks Hamm with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Hamm falls to his knees and Mean doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Dean Mean thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
