PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Schroeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tascone Xerox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tascone Xerox will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schroeder misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

so Schroeder counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Xerox is on top in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Schroeder manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Xerox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schroeder circles away quickly and effectively.

Xerox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schroeder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schroeder is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Schroeder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Xerox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Schroeder is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Xerox shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Schroeder eats them both and turns towards Xerox to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Xerox has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Schroeder regains guard immediately.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schroeder turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Schroeder manages to end up in side control.

Xerox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schroeder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Schroeder, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
