Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kelly Delaney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Plys (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kelly Delaney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Plys!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plys misses with a series of wild punches.

Delaney gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Plys wanted to stand there but Delaney had control of the position.
Delaney tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Plys is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Plys working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Delaney controls Plys momentarily but Plys frees himself.
Plys must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Plys wants to stand and escape but instead Delaney has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Plys has Delaney pulled in close to control his posture.

Plys is working an open guard so Delaney takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Peter Plys seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Plys throws a right and a left that both miss.
Delaney shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Plys as he jumps to the side.
Delaney moves out of range of the body kick from Plys.

Plys rushes Delaney and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Delaney wants to get back to striking at distance but Plys won't allow it.
Delaney is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Plys is keeping busy.
Delaney tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Plys is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Plys keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Delaney's efforts to push away.

Plys has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Delaney uses from the top position.
Plys looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Delaney stands and steps away. Plys gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Plys throws a combination that misses
and Delaney makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Delaney clinches up with Plys and pushes him back against the cage.
Plys slowing the pace effectively.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Plys.

Plys has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Delaney clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Will Plys go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Delaney is really stuck here.

Plys is looking for a choke. Delaney gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Delaney manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Plys is working an open guard so Delaney takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Plys fails to land with a series of punches.

Plys rushes Delaney and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Plys breaks from the clinch.
Plys misses with a double jab
and Delaney counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Delaney gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Plys to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Plys missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Plys drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Delaney dives on top into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Plys dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Plys closes the distance and pushes Delaney back into the cage.

Delaney breaks from the clinch.
Plys throws a right hand that Delaney ducks under and follows up with a left that Delaney also avoids with ease.

Delaney decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Delaney is working for a submission of some sort.

Delaney gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Delaney shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Delaney showed some decent athleticism there.
Plys controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Delaney is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Delaney is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Plys has managed to free his arm - good work.
Plys wants to improve his position but Delaney is controlling well.
Plys trying to control from the bottom.

Delaney seems to be working for a kimura but Plys defends the submission attempt.
Plys is trying to maintain the position but Delaney is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Plys is looking to improve his position.
Plys missing with punches from the bottom.

Delaney decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Plys lands a jab to the head.
Some wild striking there from Plys.

Plys clinches up with Delaney and pushes him back against the cage.

Plys has picked Delaney up - he's going for a ride! Plys dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Plys wants to get back to his feet.

Plys looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Delaney kicks Plys off and gets back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Plys has hold of one of Delaney's legs. Delaney is fighting the takedown attempt but Plys gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Plys throws a strike but Delaney rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Delaney gets to his feet. Plys looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Delaney fails with an attempt to clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Plys pushes down on Delaney's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Peter Plys will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Plys dives in and scores a takedown into Delaney's guard.

Delaney pushes Plys off and gets back to his feet.
Plys takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Plys changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Delaney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Plys tries to stand but Delaney is controlling his head.

Delaney bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Delaney gets caught flat footed, as Plys shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Delaney wants to sweep here but Plys controlling him for the moment.

Delaney has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Plys has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Plys gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Delaney tries to kick Plys off but Plys keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Plys passes into side control, despite Delaney's attempt to control the position.
Delaney isn't going anywhere.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Plys landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Plys trying to control the position but Delaney is working away.

Plys is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Delaney is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Delaney sneaks out the side door and pushes Plys away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Plys misses with a combination

and Delaney counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Delaney misses with the head strike.

Plys decides to pull guard.
Plys trying to keep a closed guard but Delaney is proving a slippery customer.

Delaney gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Plys shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Plys was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Plys wants to lay and pray for a moment but Delaney keeps working.
Delaney regains half guard there - taking advantage of Plys's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Plys wants to pass to mount but Delaney is defending the position.
Plys is trying to control. Delaney wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Delaney has one foot on Plys's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kelly Delaney.
I think Plys has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
