Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Raymond Rios has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Souza counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rios thinking.
Rios looks to clinch
and Souza counters with an inside leg kick.
Souza misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Souza darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rios is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rios is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Souza scores with a couple of nice shots.
Souza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rios!
Rios bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Souza is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rios knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Souza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rios manages to get himself to full guard.

Rios looking to hit a scissor sweep but Souza is one step ahead there.

Souza stands up from Rios's guard - Souza perhaps looking for a knockout.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Souza feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rios can't keep his opponent in guard - Souza advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rios is staying active underneath Souza, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Souza wants to control but Rios is keeping him busy.
Souza passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rios!
Rios tries to hold on but Souza postures up.

Souza manages to capitalize on a mistake by Rios to take his back!
Rios tries to escape but Souza has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Rios is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Souza is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Souza is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Rios. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Souza throws a right and a left that Rios avoids nicely.
Rios tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Souza manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Souza changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rios looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rios can't do much from the bottom here.
Rios is trying to get back to half guard.

Souza decides to stand back up.

Souza looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Souza is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rios has managed to free his arm - good work.
Souza seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Souza wants to pass to mount but Rios is defending the position.
Souza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rios's head.
Rios might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Souza passes to full mount!
Souza breaks from Rios's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Souza lands a big shot there that rocks Rios but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Souza is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Souza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oh Rios is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Souza thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Souza stands up and waves to Rios to follow him.

Souza closes the distance looking for a takedown. Souza picks Rios up and slams him brutally to the floor. Rios is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
