Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Corey McCracken!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James fails to land with a series of punches.

We've been hearing good reports from James's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McCracken will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

McCracken tries to buck James off but James is having none of it.

James has gone for a leg lock! McCracken slips out almost immediately though and dives into James's guard.

James lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

James stalks McCracken and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McCracken's face. McCracken staggers backwards, shaken.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCracken pinned against the cage. McCracken gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and James counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McCracken drops down looking for an ankle pick but James pulls his leg out and moves away.
Alex James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
James will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
