Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Judge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Judge comes into a darkened arena with his song building. NewTV by FACES OF MARS kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Barney Judge struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Judge works Kawada's body with a nice hook.
Kawada goes for a double leg but Judge avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Judge continues to drive forward.
Judge wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kawada has him pressed against the cage.
Kawada goes for a takedown in the clinch but Judge prevents it.

I was talking to Kawada's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Judge lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kawada has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kawada and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Judge can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kawada looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kawada uses his free foot to push down on Judge's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Judge.
Kawada is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Judge to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Judge shrugs it off.

Keiji Kawada decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
