PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thor Namentwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Adam Hatton was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Namentwin throws a solid leg kick but Hatton takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Namentwin.
Namentwin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hatton.
Namentwin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hatton defends it nicely.
Namentwin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

and Hatton counters with a shoot takedown. Namentwin fights it but they end up in guard.
Hatton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hatton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Namentwin's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Namentwin is on top in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hatton can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hatton manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Namentwin throws a hook to the side of Hatton's head but Hatton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Namentwin shoots for a double leg takedown but Hatton sprawls well. He's pushed Namentwin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Namentwin throws a looping overhand right but Hatton ducks down to avoid it.
Namentwin throws out a leg kick but Hatton moves out of range and Namentwin only half commits.
Hatton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hatton wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Thor Namentwin will probably get the nod.

Namentwin goes for a double leg but Hatton avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hatton continues to drive forward.

Namentwin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Oh Namentwin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hatton scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Namentwin is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Hatton can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
