Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Hooty enables Ventura to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hooty manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ventura is looking to work some ground and pound but Hooty has wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hooty is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hooty controlling the pace.
Ventura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hooty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hooty passes to side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hooty has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ventura is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hooty yanks on the arm and Ventura is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hooty.
