Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eliseo Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior Lima!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lima closes the distance and clinches.

Lima has picked Vega up - he's going for a ride! Lima dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Vega works his way to full guard. Good work.
Vega is looking to stand up but Lima isn't so interested in that idea.

Vega manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Lima is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vega's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vega is trying to stand back up but Lima is controlling him

Lima throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vega stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

It looks like Eliseo Vega has been cut.
Lima cracks a nice hook into Vega's ribs.
Oh Vega is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lima pushes Vega up against the cage in a clinch.

Lima gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Vega regains guard.
Vega can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lima controls the pace.
Vega seems to have got his legs back now.
Lima prevents Vega from getting back to his feet.

Vega bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lima's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lima can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vega drops back looking for a leg! Lima is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lima manages to kick Vega off! Vega jumps back into Lima's guard.

Lima blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lima tries to break the clinch but Vega is controlling the position.

Lima pulls guard effortlessly.
Vega throwing strikes from guard but Lima blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lima fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vega, pushing him back against the cage.

Lima has hold of one of Vega's legs. Vega is fighting the takedown attempt but Lima gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Vega is looking to stand up but Lima isn't so interested in that idea.
Vega will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lima wants to stand and escape but instead Vega has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vega accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Vega stands and steps away. Lima gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lima darts in and clinches Vega up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vega's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Horrible takedown attempt by Vega or perhaps it was just good defense by Lima, which made it look bad.

Vega really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vega gets tackled into the cage by Lima. Lima maintains the clinch.
Vega trying to control the position but instead, Lima has worked for underhooks and has pushed Vega into the cage.

Lima has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vega clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Vega rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Vega is refusing to be controlled, as Lima sits in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lima is taking a breather. Vega says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lima looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lima stalling away here and it's allowed Vega to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Lima really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vega. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vega is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Vega thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lima's head.

Eliseo Vega has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Junior Lima is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Vega with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

I would just about give that final round to Junior Lima.
Well Lima has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
