PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Nott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas comes into the arena with American Gangster blaring out of the sound system. Aaron Nott is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Lucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Nott!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas scores with a decent looking hook.
Nott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lucas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nott.
Lucas avoids the body shot from Nott.
Lucas moves forwards but Nott connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nott misses with a hook. Lucas ducked under it nicely.
Lucas scores with a kick to the midsection.
Nott takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Lucas slips a jab from Nott.
Nott lands with an overhand left.
Lucas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nott misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lucas.
Nott catches Lucas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nott throws a hook but Lucas blocks it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lucas staying out of range there.
Lucas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nott lands with a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nott is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lucas.
Nott scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Lucas throws a hook to the side of Nott's head but Nott sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lucas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lucas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nott connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lucas scrambles back to his feet.
Nott scores with the left hand. Lucas knows he should have avoided that one.
Nott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lucas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lucas connects with a solid leg kick.
Nott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lucas moves away.
Nott scores with a shot to the body.
Lucas takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nott lands an overhand right.
Nott misses with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nott misses with a body shot.
Nott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lucas, as that shot connected.
Nott misses with an uppercut. Lucas saw that one coming.
Nott scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Nott ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lucas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nott on the side of the head.
Nott fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lucas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nott fails to land with a series of punches.
Nott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lucas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nott throws out the jab.
Nott pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lucas back to the cage. Nott follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Nott lands a glancing blow to the side of Lucas's head.
Nott connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lucas. Lucas circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nott misses with a jab to the body

and Lucas counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Nott!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nott is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Nott is looking for a sweep.
Lucas scores with punches from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nott is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Lucas lands a decent elbow from side control.
Lucas lands a nice forearm strike.
Lucas looks up at the clock and then as Nott takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lucas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Lucas just content to control the position.
Nott is pushing Lucas's head away, looking to escape. Lucas manages to hold on to the position though.

Lucas is working to tighten his grip on Nott's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nott has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lucas is really squeezing tight and eventually Nott passes out! Lucas breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Frank Lucas!
Frank Lucas decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
