PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Sulphur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voda is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lorenzo Sulphur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Voda!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voda shoots in but Sulphur avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Decent striking displayed by Sulphur there.
Sulphur looks to throw the jab but Voda is out of range.
Voda fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sulphur has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sulphur throws a series of punches but Voda avoids them all with ease.
We've been hearing reports that Sulphur has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Voda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sulphur.
Voda takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sulphur pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Voda counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Voda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Voda is pushing down on Sulphur's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sulphur is fighting to maintain full guard but Voda has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Voda is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Voda is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jeremy Voda has got the better of the ground game so far.

Voda is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sulphur has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sulphur!

Sulphur will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

No joy there for Sulphur, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sulphur has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Voda should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sulphur has tightened it up now! Voda should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
