And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freitas shoots for a takedown but Mcdonald saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wendel Freitas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Freitas shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcdonald tries to sprawl out of it but Freitas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcdonald manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Freitas misses with a takedown attempt
and Mcdonald counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jorge Mcdonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wendel Freitas.
Freitas misses with a low kick as Mcdonald jumps back.
Mcdonald really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Freitas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcdonald but Mcdonald pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Freitas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Freitas showed some decent athleticism there.
Mcdonald has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Freitas is working away from the top position though.
Freitas wants to control but Mcdonald is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freitas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mcdonald!
Freitas landing strikes from the mount and Mcdonald is in trouble!

Mcdonald is rocked!

Freitas looking for a guillotine from mount but Mcdonald is having none of it.
Oh Mcdonald is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The referee warns Mcdonald that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Freitas is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mcdonald has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Freitas looks winded!
Freitas loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Mcdonald scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Freitas land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Freitas stands and salutes the crowd.
