Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Herman Mills!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Schulz!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schulz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Schulz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mills tries to roll over but Schulz keeps him under control.

Schulz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mills moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Schulz wants to pass the guard but Mills is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mills wants to sweep but no luck.
Mills will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Schulz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mills is proving hard to escape from.

Mills shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Schulz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mills was well out of range. Poor timing from Schulz.
Schulz throws a sloppy head kick and Mills moves out of range easily.
Schulz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mills shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schulz but Schulz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mills closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mills lands in his opponent's guard.
Schulz wants to get back to his feet but Mills is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Schulz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
