PBP Commentary

Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Torn by "Disturbed". We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrell Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clayton Channings!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Channings sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jackson closes the distance and pushes Channings back into the cage.
Jackson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Channings just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jackson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrell Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jackson manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson misses with a hook
and Channings counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jackson looks to clinch

and Channings counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jackson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Channings frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Channings is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Channings has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Channings has control of Jackson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jackson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jackson is trying desperately to improve position.
Jackson tries to lock up and control but Channings gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Channings has a good base and remains in mount.
Channings working the ground and pound effectively.

Channings looking for a guillotine from mount but Jackson is having none of it.
Jackson is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Channings connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Channings cracks Jackson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Channings landing punches.


Jackson is rocked!
Channings postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Jackson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Jackson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clayton Channings!
Clayton Channings decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
