Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maria Coffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yogi Miyamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Maria Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yogi Miyamoto!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miyamoto scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Miyamoto slows the pace down in half guard.
Miyamoto wants to free his trapped foot but Coffey is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Miyamoto is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Coffey sees it coming and defends easily.
Coffey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Miyamoto wants to pass the guard but Coffey is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coffey looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Miyamoto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Miyamoto trying to control from half guard but Coffey is working away.
Coffey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Miyamoto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Miyamoto's back!
Coffey doesn't have the hooks in and Miyamoto manages to turn into his guard.

Coffey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miyamoto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Miyamoto pushes down on Coffey's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Miyamoto works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Miyamoto is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Nice sprawl there from Miyamoto as Coffey shoots in.
Coffey slips a jab and a cross from Miyamoto.
Miyamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Coffey's waist but Coffey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miyamoto off to one side.
Miyamoto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Coffey counters with a one-two to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miyamoto fails with a takedown attempt.
Maria Coffey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yogi Miyamoto.
Miyamoto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Coffey counters with a straight right hand.

so Miyamoto counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Miyamoto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miyamoto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Miyamoto is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Coffey has managed to free his arm - good work.
Coffey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miyamoto on the ground.

Coffey is breathing heavily.

Miyamoto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coffey doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Miyamoto.

Miyamoto landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Miyamoto is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Coffey has managed to free his arm - good work.
Coffey tries to kick Miyamoto off but Miyamoto keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yogi Miyamoto dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Coffey gets a takedown into half guard.

Coffey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Miyamoto tries to get to full guard but Coffey has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyamoto preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miyamoto makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Miyamoto.
Coffey would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Miyamoto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miyamoto landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Miyamoto blocks the strikes from Coffey.

Miyamoto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Miyamoto is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Coffey to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Miyamoto passes Coffey's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Miyamoto looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Miyamoto wants to work for an arm triangle but Coffey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Coffey moves into full guard.

Coffey has his foot on Miyamoto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miyamoto works his way back into a safe position though.
Miyamoto is working Coffey over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Miyamoto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Miyamoto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Miyamoto stands and throws Coffey's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Miyamoto is working Coffey over with some ground and pound from side control.

Miyamoto is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Coffey is trying to escape and Miyamoto transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Coffey is forced to tap! Nice work there by Miyamoto! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Yogi Miyamoto!
