Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Yan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yan has chosen Samurai as his entrance music. Steve Freeman has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mo Yan!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A big right from Yan misses.
Yan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Yan catches Freeman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Steve Freeman has been cut.
A leg kick checked by Freeman.
Freeman shoots in looking for a takedown but Yan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Freeman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Freeman fails with a takedown attempt.

Yan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Freeman did well to prevent Yan getting side control.
Freeman is breathing heavily.
Yan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Freeman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Yan thows a huge punch but Freeman dodges it nicely.
Yan throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Freeman to regain full guard.

Freeman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Yan moves into range and clinches up with Freeman.
Yan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

A right hook to the body lands for Yan.

Yan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Freeman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Yan misses with a series of wild punches.

Freeman dodges the punch combination from Yan.
Yan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Yan closes the distance and pushes Freeman back into the cage.
Yan digs a right hand underneath Freeman's ribcage. Freeman let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Yan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Freeman prevents Yan from getting back to his feet.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yan wants to get back to his feet but Freeman passes into half guard.
Freeman stops Yan from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yan throws a shot to the body.
Yan throws a nice looking combination but Freeman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mo Yan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Steve Freeman's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A combination from Yan does no damage.
Freeman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Yan.
Yan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Freeman.
Mo Yan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yan instigates a clinch.
Freeman looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Yan lands a nice shot to the body.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Yan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yan lands a shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice body punch from Yan - that landed with a thud.
Yan works on Freeman's body with a couple of short punches.

Yan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Freeman avoids it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Freeman on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Yan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Freeman backwards.
Nice body punch from Yan.
A body shot lands from Yan.
Yan lands a nice shot to the body.
Yan lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Freeman backwards.
Yan works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Yan jumps guard.
Freeman prevents Yan from getting back to his feet.

Freeman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Yan is proving hard to escape from.
Freeman stops Yan from standing up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Freeman is standing up over Yan. Yan looks to escape but Freeman dives into side control.

Freeman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yan pushes Freeman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Freeman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yan parries the strikes from Freeman easily there. Freeman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Yan to escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Yan clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yan is leaning against Freeman and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Yan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Yan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Freeman has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Yan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Yan.

Yan closes the distance and clinches.
Yan tries to circle away but Freeman has him pinned against the cage.
Freeman goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Freeman landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Mo Yan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Yan cracks Freeman with a hook to the temple - Freeman is on wobbly legs here! Yan swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Freeman falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Yan wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mo Yan!
During a confident post fight interview, Mo Yan thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
