Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Griffith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atir Hullez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harvey Griffith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Atir Hullez!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffith on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hullez throws a series of punches but Griffith avoids them all with ease.
Hullez throws a series of punches but Griffith moves out of range.

Griffith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Griffith wriggles free and stands up.
Hullez misses with a few strikes there.
A slow jab from Hullez misses its intended target.
Hullez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Griffith holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Griffith drags the fight down to the ground.
Hullez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Griffith has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Griffith looking for a sweep. Not yet Griffith, not yet.
Hullez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Griffith keeping moving, preventing Hullez from controlling successfully.
Griffith has Hullez pulled in close to control his posture.

Griffith pushes Hullez off and gets back to his feet.

Griffith gets tackled into the cage by Hullez. Hullez maintains the clinch.

Hullez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Griffith regains guard immediately.

Griffith is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Griffith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Hullez wants to stand but Griffith is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hullez wants to control from the top but Griffith keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Griffith jumps into guard, dragging Hullez to the mat.
Griffith wants to get back to his feet but Hullez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Griffith wants to sweep but no luck.
Griffith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hullez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Griffith looking for a sweep. Not yet Griffith, not yet.
We've been informed that Hullez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffith keeping moving, preventing Hullez from controlling successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Griffith looks for a takedown but Hullez sprawls well.

Hullez rushes Griffith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Griffith misses with a hook to the ribs.

Griffith decides to pull guard.
Hullez is looking to work some ground and pound but Griffith has wrist control.
Hullez wants to get up but he can't break Griffith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Atir Hullez will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hullez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Griffith manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Griffith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hullez is looking to work some ground and pound but Griffith has wrist control.

Griffith has his feet on Hullez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Hullez drives through with a takedown into Griffith's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Griffith holds on and takes a little breather.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffith is on top in guard.

Griffith postures up in Hullez's guard and throws a big left but Hullez blocks it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hullez lands a glancing blow to the side of Griffith's head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hullez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffith napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That's time! Griffith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hullez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Griffith is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Griffith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hullez for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Griffith gets caught flat footed, as Hullez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Griffith seems keen to control Hullez's posture.
Harvey Griffith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Griffith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Griffith wants to sweep but no luck.
Griffith lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hullez can't keep his opponent in guard - Griffith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Griffith is taking a breather. Hullez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Griffith is working for a kimura but Hullez is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Griffith in particular looking to stall.
Griffith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

And that's the end of the fight!
Harvey Griffith showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Griffith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
