Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guljigit Asanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asanov comes into the arena with I Have a Dream blaring out of the sound system. Matt Barnett looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asanov misses with a series of wild punches.
Barnett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Asanov pinned against the cage. Asanov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Guljigit Asanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asanov misses with a wild body shot.
Asanov closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Asanov misses with a two punch combination.
Asanov fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barnett looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Asanov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Barnett crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Asanov - the referee stops the clock and Barnett gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Asanov. Barnett manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Asanov swings for the body but Barnett moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Asanov.
Barnett works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Guljigit Asanov has been cut.

and Barnett counters with a shoot takedown. Asanov fights it but they end up in guard.

Barnett takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

We've been hearing reports that Asanov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Barnett's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Asanov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Barnett scrambles back to his feet.
Asanov stalks Barnett and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Barnett's face. Barnett staggers backwards, shaken.
Asanov fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Asanov drops Barnett with a beautiful combination! Barnett stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Asanov is looking for the KO!
Barnett is rocked!
Barnett is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Asanov just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Barnett has gone limp and this one is over!
