Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Listerine Care (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keith Hunt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Listerine Care's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Listerine Care!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, John Mangel and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Care.
Care throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Care is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hunt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hunt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Care.
Care shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunt as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Listerine Care. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Care throws out a loose jab but Hunt uses good head movement to avoid it.
Care looks to land a combination but Hunt avoids it well.

Hunt gets the takedown into side control.
Care is trying to buck Hunt off.

Care throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Care checks a leg kick.
Hunt pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hunt misses with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Care.
Care could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hunt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Care's guard.
Hunt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Care has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hunt has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Hunt manages to pull guard.
Hunt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Care. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hunt keeping moving, preventing Care from controlling successfully.

Hunt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Care stands and throws Hunt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hunt is looking to regain half guard here but Care keeps moving and retains side control.
Care tries to advance to mount but can't.
Care working away.
Care tries to advance to mount but Hunt denies him.

Care swings around for an armbar but Hunt sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Care's guard.

Care keeping full guard, as Hunt tries to pass.

Care scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hunt tries to clinch but Care is having none of it.
Care tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Care somewhat.
Care has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Care there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hunt takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Care misses with a wild combination.
Care pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hunt back to the cage. Care follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hunt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hunt tries a head kick but it misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hunt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Care.

Hunt closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Care quickly recovers to half guard.

Care has one foot on Hunt's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Care rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hunt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Care shoots in for a takedown but Hunt shows good takedown defense.
Care misses with a wild body shot.
Hunt tries to clinch up.
Care shoots for a double leg takedown but Hunt sprawls well. He's pushed Care's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Listerine Care will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Care pushes Hunt off and scrambles back to his feet.
Care misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Care shoots in for a takedown but Hunt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hunt shoots in and bounces Care off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Care is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hunt presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Care is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hunt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Care is trying to drag Hunt to the mat but Hunt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hunt breaks from the clinch.
Hunt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Care makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Hunt tries to free his leg and advance position but Care is retaining full guard.
Hunt wants to control from the top but Care keeps moving.

Hunt wants to get up but he can't break Care's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Care pushes Hunt off and scrambles back to his feet.

Hunt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Care's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Care has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hunt off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Care throws a series of punches but Hunt avoids them all with ease.

Hunt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Care has one foot on Hunt's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Hunt throws a nice looking combination but Care bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Care shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunt pinned against the cage. Hunt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice sprawl there from Hunt as Care shoots in.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hunt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Care is trying to escape back to his feet but Hunt uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Hunt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Care, who protects the arm well.

Hunt trying to control the position but Care is working away.
Care is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hunt has just dragged him back down to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Listerine Care will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Care lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hunt misses with a low kick.
Care lands with a shot to the body.
Listerine Care is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hunt shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hunt was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Care wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Care sneaks out the side door and pushes Hunt away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Care shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hunt as he avoids it easily.

Care tries to bum rush Hunt with a series of wild strikes but Hunt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Care fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Listerine Care. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Care shoots in looking for a takedown but Hunt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Care's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Listerine Care is winning the standup battle so far.
Care swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Care gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Care wants to stand but Hunt is controlling the position.
Hunt trying to control the position from guard on top but Care is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hunt has gone for a leg lock! Care slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hunt's guard.

Care looking to pass the guard.
Hunt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hunt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hunt is pulling down on Care's head. It's preventing any offense from Care, at least for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunt can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hunt wants to stand up but Care is controlling him.

Care drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hunt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Care has Hunt in his guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hunt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Care working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hunt.

Care pushes Hunt off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hunt closes the distance but Care moves to the side
and Care counters with a right hand to the body.

Hunt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hunt wants to stand but Care is controlling his arm.
Hunt prevents Care from escaping the position.
Keith Hunt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Listerine Care is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Care explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Listerine Care.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Care, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
