PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Hausser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yi Chang Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yi Chang Lee will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Hausser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yi Chang Lee!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang Lee shoots for a takedown but Hausser saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Yi Chang Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chang Lee is looking to clinch but Hausser is avoiding it.
Hausser shoots in looking for a takedown. Chang Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Hausser keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chang Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hausser fails to pull guard.
Chang Lee is pressed up against the cage. Hausser has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chang Lee down to the mat. Chang Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Hausser. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chang Lee is looking to improve his position but Hausser isn't that keen on the idea.
BOOM! Hausser connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hausser cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Hausser lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hausser postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chang Lee looks a forlorn figure.

Hausser swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Chang Lee is now in Hausser's guard. A big mistake from Hausser there, giving up the dominant position!

Chang Lee is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hausser is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hausser has escaped and now he's on top!

Chang Lee is staying active underneath Hausser, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hausser tries to pass to full mount but Chang Lee defends it.
Chang Lee is trying to control but can't.
Ground and pound from Hausser.
Chang Lee is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hausser's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hausser's back!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Paul Hausser will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hausser stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chang Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hausser is nestled in close to Chang Lee, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hausser closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Chang Lee's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Chang Lee is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hausser has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Chang Lee is looking to control Hausser but Hausser is wriggling around and keeping busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul Hausser showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hausser, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
