Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riki Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ra kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Space is the place by Sun Ra. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Machida blocks a head kick by Ra.
Machida misses with a hook
and Ra counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Ra throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Ra lands a big head kick that sends Machida tumbling to the mat! Ra takes a step backwards and waves Machida back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Riki Machida has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ra fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Machida.
Machida tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Machida swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Machida throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Machida tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ra swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ra throws a sloppy head kick and Machida moves out of range easily.
Machida throws out a loose jab but Ra uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ra grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Machida takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Ra cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sun Ra!
Sun Ra is the new light heavyweight champion!
In his post fight interview, Sun Ra gave a big smile as he said 'I see them as they are to is And not the seeming isness of the was'.
