Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manolito Damhuis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Materla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michal Materla is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damhuis goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Damhuis explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Damhuis moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Damhuis throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Materla.

It looks like Michal Materla has been cut.

Materla gets caught napping as Damhuis dives in and scores a takedown. Materla manages to retain guard.
Damhuis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Materla working for a triangle but Damhuis defends it easily.
Damhuis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Damhuis tries to free his leg and advance position but Materla is retaining full guard.

Materla has momentary wrist control but Damhuis slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Damhuis.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Materla can do anything to dispel that myth.
Materla is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Damhuis scores with a couple of nice shots.

Damhuis tries to control but Materla wriggling away.
Damhuis is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
BOOM! Damhuis connects with a massive shot to the dome!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A solid leg kick lands there for Damhuis.

Damhuis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Materla sprawls well initially but Damhuis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
