Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, John Bonham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Jackson!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonham catches Jackson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Jackson checks a low kick from Bonham.
Jackson connects with a single shot there.
Bonham throws a body kick that misses.
A big right from Jackson misses.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bonham lands a head kick. Jackson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Bonham looks to throw the jab but Jackson is out of range.

It seemed like Jackson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Bonham blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Bonham swings wildly with an uppercut but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bonham pushes off an throws an elbow but Jackson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Jackson tries to pull guard but Bonham holds him up against the cage and eventually Jackson drops back down to his feet.
Bonham swings wildly with an uppercut but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jackson pushes Bonham back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Bonham tries to land a knee to the head but Jackson blocks with his arms.
Bonham comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bonham just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jackson's brow.
Jackson cracks Bonham with a nice body shot.
Jackson scores with a hook to the body.
Jackson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bonham pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Bonham.
Bonham digs a right hand underneath Jackson's ribcage. Jackson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bonham creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bonham misses with a punch to the body.
Bonham presses Jackson against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Jackson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Jackson jumps guard but Bonham stands there with Jackson around his waist. Jackson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
John Bonham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Jackson.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bonham doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bonham manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jackson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bonham has passed into side control.

Jackson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bonham wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bonham will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jackson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bonham is controlling him well.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom here.

John Bonham dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jackson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jackson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Bonham moves out of range easily.

Jackson rushes Bonham and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bonham lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Bonham lands a nice shot to the body.
Bonham misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bonham lands an elbow inside.
Jackson swings wildly with an uppercut but Bonham uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bonham really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jackson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bonham defends it easily.

Bonham throws a push kick but Jackson slaps the foot to one side.

Jackson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bonham fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bonham avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
John Bonham is winning the standup battle so far.
Jackson dives in and grabs Bonham's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bonham pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.

Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bonham manages to get himself to full guard.

Bonham is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Donnie Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bonham perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson tries to roll over but Bonham keeps him under control.

Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bonham is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

John Bonham showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bonham, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
