Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira is looking to clinch.
Nogueira closes the distance and clinches up with Carvalho, looking for a takedown. Nogueira pushes Carvalho against the cage but Carvalho circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nogueira shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carvalho manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Nogueira drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carvalho dives on top into guard.

Carvalho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Nogueira wants to sweep here but Carvalho controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carvalho would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carvalho has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nogueira controls Carvalho momentarily but Carvalho frees himself.

Carvalho throws a strike but Nogueira rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carvalho is trying to hold Nogueira in close to prevent damage but Nogueira has managed to pass into half guard.
Nogueira not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Nogueira is trying to control the action in half guard but Carvalho is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Carvalho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nogueira on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nogueira shoots in but Carvalho avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nogueira should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Carvalho scores with a jab.

Carvalho connects with a body shot.
Carvalho lands with a slapping head kick.
Nogueira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carvalho tries to avoid it but Nogueira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carvalho to the ground. Carvalho escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gabriel Carvalho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Nogueira.
A combination from Nogueira does no damage.
Nogueira looks winded!
Nogueira walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nogueira swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carvalho counters with a huge right that knocks Nogueira out cold! Carvalho is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
