Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Breneman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Claudio Espinoza!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Breneman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Espinoza.
Espinoza keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Breneman throws out a loose jab but Espinoza uses good head movement to avoid it.
Espinoza defending well as Breneman loads up on a big left hand.
Breneman misses with a wild body shot.
Espinoza throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Espinoza throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Breneman scores with a nice head shot.
Breneman throws a body shot but no joy.
Espinoza uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Breneman.
Breneman misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Breneman takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Espinoza walks into a straight right hand from Breneman.

That's one minute gone in the round.
That kick from Espinoza tenderised Breneman's leg. Breneman is trying to keep his angry face on.
Breneman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Breneman pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Breneman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Breneman blocks the body kick.
Breneman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Espinoza takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Breneman is trying hard to land a takedown here. Espinoza sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Breneman misses with a body shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Espinoza has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Espinoza tried to score with a low kick but Breneman checks it.
Espinoza throws a wild body kick that Breneman sees coming a mile off.
Espinoza moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Breneman connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Espinoza's hands.
Breneman lands an overhand right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Espinoza.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Espinoza pushes Breneman away with a front kick.
Claudio Espinoza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Espinoza throws a right hand that misses

and Breneman counters with a shoot takedown. Espinoza fights it but they end up in guard.
Breneman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Espinoza tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Breneman throwing strikes from guard but Espinoza blocks nicely.
Breneman tries to free his leg and advance position but Espinoza is retaining full guard.
Espinoza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Espinoza has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Breneman should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Espinoza has tightened it up now! Breneman should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Claudio Espinoza!
