PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leopoldo Hewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hewitt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hardy, pushing him back against the cage.

Hewitt jumps into guard, dragging Hardy to the mat.
Hewitt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hewitt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hardy content to stall in guard here.
Hardy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hewitt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hardy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hewitt is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hardy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hardy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hewitt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hardy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hewitt takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Hardy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hewitt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hardy is in Hewitt's guard.

Hewitt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hardy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Hardy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
