The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beef looks to score with a jab to the body but Matthews is just out of range.
Matthews moves out of range of the body kick from Beef.
Beef has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Matthews is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Kobe Beef seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beef swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The fighters circling - Beef throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Beef throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Matthews sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Matthews closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Beef did well to prevent Matthews getting side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Beef lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Beef takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Matthews really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Beef slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Beef pushes down on Matthews's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Beef takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Beef lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Beef perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Beef throws a shot from downtown. Matthews moves away and avoids it.
Beef clobbers Matthews with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The fighters circling - Beef throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Beef shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matthews manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Let's hope that Beef has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Beef prevents Matthews from getting back to his feet.
Beef forces his way into half guard.
Beef controlling the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kobe Beef showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Beef feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

You can see the frustration on Matthews's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well, if Beef is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Matthews decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Beef is pulling down on Matthews's head. It's preventing any offense from Matthews, at least for the moment.
Matthews throws a strike but Beef rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well Beef has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
