Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Foles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Steel!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel misses with a wild combination.
Foles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Steel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Foles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Steel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Foles moves away.
Steel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Foles wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Steel throws a shot to the body.
Steel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Steel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foles circles away from the clinch attempt.
Steel takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Steel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Steel throws a sloppy head kick and Foles moves out of range easily.

Steel on the wrong end of a nice jab.


It looks like Freddy Steel has been cut.
Steel moves in looking to clinch but Foles pushes him off.
Steel throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Steel misses with a body kick.
Foles throws a leg kick which misses Steel's front leg but catches the back leg as Steel tries to avoid it.
Steel moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Steel is looking to clinch.
Steel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Foles circles away quickly and effectively.
Foles circles away from the clinch attempt.
Foles thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Steel if he has to take too many more of those.
Foles throws a head kick that Steel semi-blocks.
Steel throws a head kick that misses
and Foles counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Steel looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Foles fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Steel.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steel looks for the body kick but Foles saw that one coming.
Foles lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


That has opened up Freddy Steel's cut even more.
Foles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Steel closes the distance and clinches.
Steel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Steel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steel tries to clinch but Foles moves out of range.
Foles swats away the attempt to clinch by Steel.
Foles lands a lovely overhand right.
Steel tries to land a leg kick but Foles saw it coming and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Foles gets tackled into the cage by Steel. Steel maintains the clinch.
Foles lands a left hand.


The cut above Freddy Steel's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Steel wants to break free but Foles has control.
Steel wants to break free but Foles has control.
Foles misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Steel.
Steel misses with the head strike.
Steel blocks the elbow strike.
Steel is trying to push Foles away but Foles has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Foles pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Steel misses with some punches.
Foles's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Steel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Foles misses with a body shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Steel tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Steel misses with a hook to the ribs.
Knees to the body from Foles.
Foles tries to throw a body punch but Steel avoids it by throwing Foles back against the cage.
Foles misses with a knee to the head.
Steel tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Foles scores with a shot to the side of Steel's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Foles prevents Steel from breaking the clinch.
Steel blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Steel is trying to break the clinch but Foles has him pressed against the cage.
Foles goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Foles throws a knee to the head but misses.
Foles gets through Steel's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


Freddy Steel's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Foles looking to throw knees to the head but Steel is blocking nicely.
Foles is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Steel is defending well for now.
Steel avoids a wild elbow strike from Foles.
Foles crunches a lovely knee into Steel's ribcage.
Foles lands a left hand that snaps the head of Steel backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Foles dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Freddy Steel's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Steel cracks a nice hook into Foles's ribs.

Foles is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steel can do to turn this around?
Both fighters circling a little - Foles finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Freddy Steel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Steel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Foles paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Foles scores with a sloppy right hand. Steel should have avoided that one.

and Foles counters with a slapping leg kick.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Freddy Steel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Nick Foles decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
