PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Castiel Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Aquino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel comes into the arena with Carry on my wayward son blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jorge Aquino!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aquino takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Jorge Aquino has been cut.
Angel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Aquino sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

We've been hearing good reports from Angel's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Angel lands a leg kick that knocks Aquino off balance momentarily.

Aquino changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Angel tries to avoid it but Aquino manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Angel to the ground. Angel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Aquino throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Angel was covering up waiting for the punch and Aquino finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Angel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Angel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aquino with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
