PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rob Kaman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wirbel Schwein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rob Kaman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wirbel Schwein!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwein fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kaman tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Schwein counters with a body kick.
Kaman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schwein pinned against the cage. Schwein gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Schwein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kaman was well out of range. Poor timing from Schwein.
Kaman darts in looking for a takedown but Schwein gets double underhooks and turns Kaman into the cage.
Kaman wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Kaman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Schwein walks away with a smile on his face. Kaman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schwein jabs Kaman to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Schwein swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kaman shoots in for a takedown but Schwein shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Schwein jabs Kaman right on the nose. Kaman blinks but takes it well.


It looks like Rob Kaman has been cut.
Kaman wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schwein misses with a looping right.
Schwein misses with a body kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kaman or perhaps it was just good defense by Schwein, which made it look bad.
A bone on bone clash there as Schwein blocks the leg kick.
Wirbel Schwein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schwein throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schwein connects with a body shot that sends Kaman's belly button to the back.
Schwein dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kaman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schwein.
Kaman tries to close the distance and clinch but Schwein swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Schwein stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schwein wants it to stay on the feet.
Kaman shoots in looking for a takedown. Schwein tries to sprawl out of it but Kaman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schwein manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Schwein with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Kaman is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Schwein tries a head kick but it misses.
Schwein throws a sloppy head kick and Kaman moves out of range easily.
Kaman looks for a takedown but Schwein sprawls well.
Schwein throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Schwein keeps the fight on the outside.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Schwein works over Kaman's head and body with a nice combination.
Kaman darts in trying to clinch
and Schwein counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Schwein ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A slapping body kick lands there for Schwein.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Schwein thows a body kick. Kaman tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Schwein is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kaman rather than just go for the knockout.
Kaman drops his hands momentarily and Schwein needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Kaman just on the top of the head. Kaman drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Kaman - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Wirbel Schwein!
