The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've been hearing reports that Ist has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Ist closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gabriel to the mat! Gabriel manages to get full guard.
Ist throwing strikes from guard but Gabriel blocks nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gabriel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ist manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gabriel is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Ist has hold of Gabriel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gabriel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ist has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ist unloads with some shots from mount but Gabriel bucks and avoids them well.
Ist swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gabriel is now in Ist's guard. A big mistake from Ist there, giving up the dominant position!
Gabriel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gabriel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Gabriel sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Ist doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Gabriel paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Ist - great work!
