The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rose takes one to the side of the head.

Rose fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Junior Ii to the ground. Rose is now in Junior Ii's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rose lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Rose postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Junior Ii to stand up.
Rose tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Junior Ii was well out of range. Poor timing from Rose.
Rose tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Junior Ii paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Junior Ii is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rose is controlling him.

Rose closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Junior Ii to the mat! Junior Ii manages to get full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rose is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Junior Ii frees his head nicely. Oh but Rose has switched to an armbar! Junior Ii is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
