Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giovanni Fidre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giovanni Fidre has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fidre moves into range and clinches up with Robinson.

Robinson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fidre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robinson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Fidre might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Robinson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Robinson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fidre manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Robinson has Fidre in his guard.

Fidre wants to pass the guard but Robinson is keeping the position.

Fidre tries to close the distance and clinch but Robinson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Fidre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Robinson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Robinson pushes Fidre away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fidre gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Robinson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Fidre's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Fidre wants to free his trapped foot but Robinson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Fidre is keen to just control but Robinson is a slippery customer.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Robinson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fidre looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Fidre wants to take a breather but Robinson is having none of it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
