Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Marcy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Kickstart. The crowd seem to be enjoying Marcy's choice of entrance music: Archer's Cherlene - Danger Zone - Duet With Kenny Loggins. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Gracie.

It looks like Lance Marcy has been cut.
Marcy throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.
Marcy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gracie misses with a looping right.
Gracie blocks a jab.
Gracie misses with a hook. Marcy ducked under it nicely.
Marcy wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.
Gracie rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Marcy counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie.
Gracie throws a leg kick but Marcy moved away.
Gracie throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gracie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marcy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Marcy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Gracie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marcy was well out of range. Poor timing from Gracie.
Marcy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gracies jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Gracie sizes up Marcy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

No joy there for Gracie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gracie throws a lazy right hand but Marcy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Marcy throws a shot to the body.
Gracie scores with a punch to the head.
Gracie throws a jab but it's blocked by Marcy.
Gracie misses with an uppercut.
Gracie misses with a low kick.
Gracie takes a swing at Marcy's ribcage but misses.
Marcy misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Marcy throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Marcy.
Gracie getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Marcy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marcy was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marcy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Our spies down at at 11th Planet MMA inform us that Marcy has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Marcy throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gracie uses it to pass to side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Marcy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Marcy winds up and cracks Gracie with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gracie wants to control but Marcy is keeping busy.
Gracie is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Marcy pulls his head out easily.

Marcy is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Marcy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gracie defend it? Marcy steps over the head and cranks it - Gracie is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Marcy!
