Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bob Koff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
58 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tiao Macale!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macale listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Macale looks to throw the jab but Koff is out of range.
Macale scores with a jab to the head.
Macale tests Koff's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Koff fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A big right from Macale misses.
A head kick misses from Macale.
Koff shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Koff doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Macale counters with a leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Koff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Koff tries to clinch up.
A swing and a miss from Macale.
Macale throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Koff on the side of the head.
Koff scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Koff is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Macale trying to control but Koff postures up.

Macale is defending against the submission attempts here by Koff.
Macale avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Koff.
Macale is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Koff wants to control but Macale is keeping him busy.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Koff tries to pass the half guard into mount. Macale knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Macale keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Macale has his hands clasped together around Koff's back. He's all about the action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Koff fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Macale, pushing him back against the cage.
Macale has a couple of punches blocked by Koff.
Koff pulls Macale into guard.
Koff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Macale is stalling in the full guard.
Koff keeping moving, preventing Macale from controlling successfully.
Macale postures up in Koff's guard and throws a big left but Koff blocks it.
Koff working for a triangle but Macale defends it easily.
Koff working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Macale.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Macale throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Macale scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Macale throws a strike but Koff rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Macale looking to control.
Koff trying to control the position from guard on top but Macale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Macale is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tiao Macale will probably get the nod.
That's time! Koff's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Koff tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Macale swivels and escapes.
Koff is looking to clinch but Macale is avoiding it.
Koff staying out of range there.
Koff shoots for a double leg takedown but Macale sprawls well. He's pushed Koff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Macale throws a big shot that misses.
Koff with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Macale to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Koff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Macale looks to land a left hand but Koff moved out of range nicely.
A head kick misses from Macale.
Tiao Macale seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Koff shoots in and drives through. Macale sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Macale throws a hook but Koff avoids it easily.
Macale displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Koff.
Koff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koff is defended easily by Macale.
Macale has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Koff throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Macale's waist but Macale gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Koff off to one side.
Macale might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Macale throws a jab but it's blocked by Koff.
Macale cracks a nice hook into Koff's ribs.
Koff misses with a takedown attempt - Macale sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Macale changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Macale's corner calls for a 1-2. Macale obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Macale cracks Koff with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Koff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Macale but Macale pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Macale misses with a wild combination.
Koff gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Macale counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Macale lands a big uppercut and Koff crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Koff looks OK. Macale waves Koff back to his feet!
Koff is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Macale throws a front kick that sends Koff stumbling back into the cage.
Oh Koff is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Koff ducks under a wild hook from Macale.
Koff seems to have got his legs back now.
Macale cracks Koff with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Macale has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Koff to stand back up!
Macale bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Macale fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Koff out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Tiao Macale!
Tiao Macale bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
