Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Irwin!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin thows a left - swing and a miss!

Irwin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gee, pushing him back against the cage.
Irwin with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Gee creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Irwin's defenses.
Gee tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Irwin avoids it.
A short right from Gee on the inside.
Gee misses with a hook to the ribs.
Irwin tries a knee to the head but Gee blocks it.
Gee's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Nice body punch from Gee.
Gee throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Irwin lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gee is working Irwin over against the cage.
Irwin misses with a short punch on the inside.
Gee lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Irwin backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gee lands a nice uppercut.
Irwin has a couple of punches blocked by Gee.
Gee blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Irwin misses with a short punch on the inside.

Irwin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Irwin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

and Gee counters with a nice right hand that sends Irwin toppling to the canvas! Irwin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Gee finish him?!

Irwin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Irwin seems to have recovered his senses.
Gee fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Irwin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Irwin throws the left hand but Gee avoids the punch easily.
Irwin throws a head kick that Gee semi-blocks.
Gee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Irwin.
Irwin connects with a body shot.
Irwin moves out of range of the body kick.
Gee gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gee throws a nice outside leg kick.
Gee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Irwin.

Irwin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gee throws a poor cross that misses
and Irwin counters with a slapping leg kick.

Irwin looks to land a right hand but Gee moved out of range.

Irwin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gee throws a wild body kick that Irwin sees coming a mile off.

Gee tries to land a front kick but Irwin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Gee throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Irwin fails to land with a series of punches.
Irwin throws out a powerful jab.
Irwin throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gee.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Irwin.
Irwin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gee has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Irwin.

Irwin closes the distance and clinches.
Irwin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Irwin lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Oh Gee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Tony Gee has been cut.
Gee blocks an uppercut.
Irwin misses with some punches.

Irwin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gee blocks a head kick by Irwin.
Irwin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Irwin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gee. Gee circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Irwin scores with a leg kick.
Paul Irwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Whack! Irwin lands a heavy head kick that drops Gee. The ref tackles Irwin to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Gee was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Paul Irwin!
A very excited looking Paul Irwin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
