Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Bilkington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mateus Jesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Bilkington!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bilkington has managed to clinch.
Jesus gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bilkington.

Bilkington is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jesus can't fight it off and eventually Bilkington manages to take the fight to the floor. Jesus looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jesus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bilkington doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bilkington manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jesus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bilkington defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jesus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bilkington defends well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bilkington displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jesus.

Jesus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jesus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bilkington scores with a nice right hand.
Jesus is breathing heavily.
Bilkington fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jesus on the side of the head.

Bilkington closes the distance and clinches.
Jesus tries to pull guard but Bilkington forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Jesus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jesus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bilkington manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bilkington misses with the combination.
Jesus shoots in but Bilkington avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateus Jesus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bilkington moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Jesus is rocked!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jesus enables Bilkington to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jesus manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bilkington tries to free his leg and advance position but Jesus is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bilkington is pushing down on Jesus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jesus is fighting to maintain full guard but Bilkington has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bilkington is taking a breather. Jesus says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Let's hope that Bilkington has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Bilkington.

What can Jesus do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Bilkington lands with a hammerfist to the side of Jesus's head.

The adventures of Bilkington the control monster continue. Boring.
Bilkington's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jesus wants to get back to his feet.
Bilkington is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bilkington fails to land with a series of punches.

Bilkington shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jesus's guard.
Bilkington seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bilkington tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Bobby Bilkington is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Bilkington has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
