Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manfred Honeypott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yoshi Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Honeypott but Honeypott pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Suzuki shoots in but no luck this time.
Honeypott dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Suzuki closes the distance and clinches up with Honeypott, looking for a takedown. Suzuki pushes Honeypott against the cage but Honeypott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Manfred Honeypott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Suzuki.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Suzuki is defended easily by Honeypott.
Suzuki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Honeypott throws a good cross that connects.
Suzuki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Honeypott is fending him off so far but Suzuki persists. Nope, Honeypott circles away and we're back to standing.
Suzuki shoots in and drives through. Honeypott sprawls well.
Suzuki dives in and grabs Honeypott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Honeypott pushes down on Suzuki's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suzuki shoots in looking for a takedown but Honeypott manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Suzuki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Suzuki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suzuki content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Suzuki is looking for a kimura but Honeypott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Suzuki to get the leverage.
Suzuki moves into full mount! Honeypott won't be happy about that!
Honeypott tries to lock up and control but Suzuki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Suzuki controlling from mount.
Honeypott tries to control Suzuki's body but Suzuki pushes him off. Honeypott squirms to his side and now Suzuki has his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Suzuki really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Honeypott.

Suzuki working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Honeypott is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Suzuki has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Honeypott taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yoshi Suzuki!
Yoshi Suzuki spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
