Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rico Morales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kofi Amankwah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kofi Amankwah!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morales lands a big uppercut and Amankwah crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Amankwah looks OK. Morales waves Amankwah back to his feet!

Amankwah is rocked!
Amankwah steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Morales.
Amankwah is still on wobbly legs! Can Morales finish him?

A momentary lapse in concentration from Morales enables Amankwah to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morales manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Amankwah is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Amankwah looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Amankwah accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Amankwah throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morales works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The referee asks Amankwah politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Amankwah prefers to stall for the moment though.
Morales is working to avoid the ground and pound but Amankwah connects with a decent elbow.

Amankwah tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Amankwah is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Morales knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
