Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Fever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vanapa Animai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Animai has chosen Here comes the hotstepper as his entrance music. Vanapa Animai is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Fever!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vanapa Animai!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fever tries to land a front kick but Animai steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Fever has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fever tries a body shot but Animai blocks it.
Fever tries to work over Animai's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
With the fighters up against the cage, Fever throws an elbow but misses.
Fever landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Fever throws an elbow but it misses.
Animai is trying to force a seperation but Fever has the dominant position.
Animai blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Animai blocks the elbow strike.
Animai tries to circle away but Fever has him pinned against the cage.
Fever throws an elbow but it misses.

Animai has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fever uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Animai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Animai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fever doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fever manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fever stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Animai swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fever got a little sloppy there for a moment and Animai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fever has managed to get both his arms back between Animai's legs - danger averted.
Animai avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fever trying to control the position from guard on top but Animai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Animai is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Fever frees his head nicely. Oh but Animai has switched to an armbar! Fever is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
