Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Mayor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Felix Mayor had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mayor scores with the left hand. Gracie knows he should have avoided that one.
Mayor throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mayor throws out a powerful jab.

Mayor shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gracie has his hands clasped together around Mayor's back. He's all about the action.

Our spies down at at We Are Legion inform us that Gracie has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mayor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mayor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mayor wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Mayor has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mayor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mayor has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
Mayor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mayor is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mayor has Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Mayor cracks Gracie with a nice body shot.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A quick uppercut on the inside from Mayor.
Mayor lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mayor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie has his foot on Mayor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mayor works his way back into a safe position though.

Mayor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gracie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gracie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gracie!

Gracie is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mayor's shoulder. That is not cool.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mayor keeps working.
Mayor tries to improve position but can't.
Mayor manages to get back to half guard.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mayor!
Mayor tries to hold on but Gracie pushes him away.

Mayor uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gracie has time to react.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mayor misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie wants to counter the offense by Mayor and move into the clinch position.
A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Mayor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Mayor won't allow it.
Still in the clinch, Mayor scores with a nice short uppercut.
Mayor pushes Gracie back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Gracie jumps guard but Mayor stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mayor presses Gracie against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Mayor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gracie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mayor to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Mayor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gracie dives on top into guard.
