The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bane fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gonzaga on the side of the head.
Gonzaga misses with a straight right.
Bane throws a body punch but Gonzaga moves out of range.
Gonzaga misses with an attempted mid kick.
Gonzaga avoids the body shot from Bane.
Bane scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

and Gonzaga counters with a takedown into side control.
Gonzaga works to advance to full mount. Bane defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gonzaga working for a guillotine from mount but Bane is in no mood to give up.
Gonzaga takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gonzaga throws a sloppy strike and Bane uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Bane has ended up in Gonzaga's guard.
Gonzaga is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gonzaga is looking to take a break and control but Bane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
