The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Koljonen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Koljonen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Koljonen is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Patel as he works his way to full guard.
