Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat O Brien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Dalton!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Brien ducks under a wild hook from Dalton.
Dalton looks to land a right hand but O Brien moved out of range.
Dalton on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Dalton takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dalton moves forwards but O Brien connects with a nice, crisp jab.
O Brien misses with an uppercut.
O Brien throws a jab but it's blocked by Dalton.
O Brien tests Dalton's chin there with a solid looking shot.
O Brien throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
O Brien throws a body shot but no joy.
Dalton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
O Brien steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dalton.
O Brien lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Tony Dalton has been cut.

O Brien fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
O Brien lands with a hook. Dalton tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Dalton swings widly with a right hand
and O Brien counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
O Brien bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
O Brien misses with a wild body shot.
O Brien moves away from the strike by Dalton.
O Brien closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dalton circles away.
Dalton jabbing away but nothing is landing.
O Brien throws a hook but Dalton avoids it easily.
Pat O Brien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Brien scores with a shot to the body.

O Brien bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dalton's head.
Some bone on bone action there as O Brien checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

O Brien steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dalton.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
O Brien misses with an uppercut. Dalton saw that one coming.
Dalton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by O Brien.
Dalton on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
O Brien lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A swing and a miss from Dalton.
Dalton takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
O Brien throws a shot to the body.
O Brien is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
O Brien fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
O Brien lands a lovely overhand right.
O Brien throws a body shot but no joy.
O Brien swings for the body but Dalton moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
O Brien misses with an uppercut.
Dalton is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dalton slips under a jab.
Dalton takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Dalton slips a straight right by O Brien.

Dalton clinches.

Dalton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
O Brien loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dalton looking for a sweep. Not yet Dalton, not yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dalton can do anything to dispel that myth.
O Brien postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
O Brien trying to control the position from guard on top but Dalton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
O Brien slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Dalton looks to move to half guard but instead O Brien has passed into mount! Damn!
Dalton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with O Brien. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
O Brien putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dalton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
O Brien is in the full mount, landing strikes.
O Brien raining down shots from the mount!
O Brien with a couple of short strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat O Brien dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tony Dalton's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dalton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and O Brien counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dalton thinking.

Dalton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into O Brien's guard.
Dalton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
O Brien keeping moving, preventing Dalton from controlling successfully.
O Brien wants to sweep here but Dalton controlling him for the moment.
Dalton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pat O Brien overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dalton works over O Brien with some ground and pound from guard.
O Brien bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dalton's guard.

O Brien wants to control from the top but Dalton keeps moving.
O Brien has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dalton is trying to keep O Brien in close.
Dalton looking to hit a scissor sweep but O Brien is one step ahead there.
O Brien connects with a couple of short punches.
O Brien stands and throws Dalton's legs to the side, diving into side control.
O Brien working the ground and pound.
O Brien creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
O Brien is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dalton can do to turn this around?
Dalton takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

O Brien cracks Dalton with a big right hand but Dalton just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Dalton is trying to get back to half guard.
O Brien in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Dalton tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
O Brien has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dalton's face.

Dalton is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oooooh, big shot lands for O Brien! Dalton is hurt baaadly! O Brien is firing away with more strikes - Dalton is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
