Keller has chosen War Music as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keller lands a leg kick that knocks Amaral off balance momentarily.
Amaral throws an overhand right that lands on Keller's shoulder, as Keller tries to avoid the shot.
Amaral has been working on his boxing with his coaches at WOLFPAC Elite M.M.A. in the buildup to the fight.
Amaral lands a nice looking kick to the body. Keller takes a step back to recover.
Amaral misses with an uppercut. Keller saw that one coming.
Keller misses with a low kick.
Keller takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A head kick by Amaral misses
and Keller counters with a straight right hand.

Amaral tries to clinch up but Keller circles away and keeps his distance.

It looks like Virgil Keller has been cut.
Amaral loads up on a big right hand but Keller slips the punch.
Amaral throws a right and a left that Keller avoids nicely.
Keller slips a jab and a cross from Amaral.
Amaral looks to land a combination but Keller avoids it well.
Amaral lands with a nice body kick.

Amaral tries to land a front kick but Keller steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Keller throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Amaral throws a series of punches but Keller avoids them all with ease.
Keller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Amaral throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Keller ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Amaral throws a series of punches but Keller moves out of range.
Amaral throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Amaral counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Keller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Amaral.
Amaral swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Keller to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like Rafael Amaral has been cut.
Amaral throws a shot from downtown. Keller moves away and avoids it.
Amaral checks the leg kick nicely there.
A big left from Amaral misses.
Keller lands a nice shot to the body.
Amaral tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Keller paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Amaral moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Amaral throws the kick towards the body but Keller avoids it.
Amaral fails to land with a series of punches.
Amaral's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Keller connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Amaral scrambles back to his feet.
Amaral smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Amaral is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Keller fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Amaral square on the jaw! Damn, Amaral is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Virgil Keller! Virgil Keller retains his middleweight title!
During a confident post fight interview, Virgil Keller thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
