Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shorty Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Crumbie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shorty Carter has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shorty Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Crumbie!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crumbie throws a series of strikes that have Carter backpedaling.
Crumbie digs a good body shot into Carter's ribs.
A telegraphed right hand from Crumbie misses the target.
Crumbie throws a one two combo.
Crumbie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Crumbie darts in looking for a takedown but Carter gets double underhooks and turns Crumbie into the cage.

Carter lands a takedown into guard.
Carter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Crumbie is retaining full guard.
Carter looking to sit in guard and control but Crumbie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Carter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Crumbie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Crumbie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Carter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Carter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Crumbie defends it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carter.
Crumbie tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.

Carter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Crumbie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Carter pulls guard.
Carter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Crumbie is one step ahead there.
Crumbie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Crumbie lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crumbie cracks Carter with a solid left hand.
Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Crumbie on the ground.

Carter working for a triangle but Crumbie defends it easily.
Crumbie is looking to work some ground and pound but Carter has wrist control.
Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Carter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crumbie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Crumbie wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Carter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Crumbie throws a right hand that Carter ducks under and follows up with a left that Carter also avoids with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Carter closes the distance and clinches.
Crumbie tries to break free but Carter pushes him back against the cage.
Crumbie wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short right from Crumbie.
Carter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Carter tries to throw a body punch but Crumbie avoids it by throwing Carter back against the cage.

Crumbie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Carter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Crumbie was covering up waiting for the punch and Carter finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Crumbie kicks Carter off and gets to his feet.
Crumbie throws a wild body kick that Carter sees coming a mile off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Crumbie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crumbie misses with a wild combination.
Crumbie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Crumbie has a takedown stuffed.
Crumbie scores with a nice strike.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carter is defended easily by Crumbie.
Karl Crumbie seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Crumbie shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Crumbie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Carter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crumbie goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Crumbie circles away quickly and effectively.
Crumbie lands a nice looking kick to the body. Carter takes a step back to recover.

Crumbie misses with a few strikes there.
Carter shoots for a double leg takedown but Crumbie sprawls well. He's pushed Carter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shorty Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Crumbie throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Carter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shorty Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Carter shoots in looking for a takedown but Crumbie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Crumbie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Crumbie wants to take a breather but Carter is having none of it.

Crumbie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carter drops his hands momentarily and Crumbie takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Crumbie lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Carter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Crumbie to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Karl Crumbie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nice straight punches there by Crumbie. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Crumbie.
Crumbie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Crumbie off to one side.
Crumbie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Crumbie wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.
Carter is looking to clinch.
Crumbie misses with a head kick.

Carter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Carter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Crumbie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carter sprawls well initially but Crumbie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Crumbie is nestled in close to Carter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Crumbie working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Crumbie wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.

Carter is trying to control the position but Crumbie postures up.
Crumbie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

A thudding body kick lands there by Carter!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Carter tries to close the distance and clinch but Crumbie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carter lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Carter darts in and clinches Crumbie up against the cage.

Carter drives through and clinches with Crumbie against the cage.

Crumbie pulls guard successfully.
Carter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Crumbie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Carter controls from within his opponent's guard.
Crumbie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Carter wants to control from the top but Crumbie keeps moving.
Crumbie wants to stand up but Carter is controlling him.
Carter wants to pass the guard but Crumbie is keeping the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Crumbie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Crumbie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Carter fails with an attempt to clinch.

Crumbie stuffs the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carter.
Carter slips a jab and a cross from Crumbie.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crumbie connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Shorty Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Karl Crumbie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Crumbie tries to clinch but Carter is having none of it.

I would just about give that final round to Karl Crumbie.
I've got Crumbie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
