Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddie Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freddie Boy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reggie Lester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddie Boy!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Freddie Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lester looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Boy is not content to let Lester control the position.
Boy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lester is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lester knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boy on the ground.

Boy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lester shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Boy napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Boy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lester is controlling him well.

Lester pushes Boy up against the cage in a clinch.

Lester pulls guard effortlessly.
Lester might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lester is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Boy dives into side control.

Lester is looking to reverse the position.

Lester looking for a sweep but Boy has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Lester tries to hold on but Boy postures up.
Lester is breathing heavily.
Boy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boy controlling his opponent.
Lester is desperately trying to improve his position but Boy has a good base and remains in mount.
Boy content just to control the position here.
Lester regains half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lester is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boy has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Lester is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Lester is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boy can do to turn this around?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lester tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Lester decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boy's guard.

Boy wants to stand up but Lester is controlling him.

Lester is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Boy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Lester darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Lester is working for a kimura but Boy is defending it quite comfortably.
Boy is looking to escape.

Lester has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Boy works to full guard.
Lester slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lester trying to control the position from guard on top but Boy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lester is stalling in the full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lester drops back looking for a leg! Boy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boy manages to kick Lester off! Lester jumps back into Boy's guard.

Lester thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lester shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boy is trying to defend but Lester finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Reggie Lester is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lester has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lester, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
