Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kairuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Desmond Parker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Desmond Parker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kairuz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Parker counters with a left and a right that stings Kairuz.
Kairuz dodges the punch combination from Parker.
Parker is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Parker shoots in but no luck this time.
Parker gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kairuz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Parker gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parker is pressed up against the cage. Kairuz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Parker down to the mat. Parker avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kairuz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Parker tries to avoid it but Kairuz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Parker to the ground. Parker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Michael Kairuz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kairuz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Parker did well to prevent Kairuz getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
