Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Yang!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Yang does no damage.
Cook half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Yang throws a half hearted mid kick.
Yang stuffs the takedown.

Cook gets the takedown into side control.
Yang is holding Cook down, trying to stall.
Cook wants to control but Yang is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yang stops Cook from passing to mount.
Cook wants to control but Yang is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cook tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Cook tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cook has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Yang tries to escape but Cook is in control.
Yang is trying to get back to half guard.
Cook throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Yang is trying to improve his position.
Cook laying and praying for a moment but Yang takes advantage and regains half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cook not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Cook has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cook trying to mount his opponent but Yang defends it.
Cook is stalling here. Yang is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cook seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Yang has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Cook is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Yang is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cook regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cook not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yang trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cook's guard.

Cook looking for a guillotine here but Yang defends easily.
Yang wants to stand but Cook is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cook lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cook trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Yang utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cook postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cook wants to control from the top but Yang keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cook looking to sit in guard and control but Yang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cook is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Cook dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Yang throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cook doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yang counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Cook falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Andy Yang!
